The desktop computer that I bought when I started video editing for Cyber-dyke finally kicked the bucket. It was about six years old and friends kept trying to convince me that I needed a new computer. I thought I would be more upset about losing this computer, but I’m not. One of the hard drives got fried in the massive hardware failure, but the hard drive with the entire Cyber-dyke video archive is safe. My music hard drive is also safe! It sort of a relief that the desktop is gone. I feel like it represented an old way of doing things, an old life I lived, and the weight of the way things were once done. Times change, the adult industry changes, the old photo studio is gone and now the old work computer is gone. I have a beautiful lightweight and portable laptop that’s more powerful than the desktop ever was, and a shiny new terabyte external hard drive. I’m going to clean off my desk that once held that desktop computer and make way for a new efficient system with the laptop. Everything I need for Cyber-dyke is portable, lightweight and can fit in the trunk of my car. I know that one day I will want to settle again, but for now I like the freedom I’m feeling. I need to remember to change things more often so that I don’t get bogged down with weight and stagnation ever again.

Video Problem Updates (troubleshoot this!)

I’ve been hearing from more and more folks about having difficultly viewing Cyber-Dyke videos, including videos that they were able to watch previously. From what I can tell it’s happening on Macs and Android devices. The only solution is for me to go in and convert every single video into a new format, and it’s taking forever. I won’t go into the technical details of what happened to the videos that made them stop playing, but thanks to this whole mess I won’t ever be buying a Mac.

I would like to recommend the VLC Media player software. It’s free open source software that plays all sorts of crazy video formats, especially old formats and ancient videos. I’m told that it works well on Macs and iPads. I used to be a Winamp gal, but I’m all VLC now. Quicktime, iTunes, and Windows Media Player are all bloated beached whales that only serve to further corporate interests. The sooner you stop using them, the happier you will be and the sooner you can watch more porn!

James Courtney is a fantastic photographer and illustrator that is an honorary cyber-dyke, He has been a friend of cyber-dyke.net since our humble beginnings. I’m pleased to announce that he has an art show coming up in San Francisco, with illustrations of myself and many other familiar faces of the fetish scene.

This October the Wicked Grounds sex and coffee shop in San Francisco hosts the pin-up art of illustrator James Courtney of Nakedcomix.com! This is James’ second solo show in San Francisco and he will be presenting 15 of his favorite illustrations. On October 3rd there will be an artist’s reception from noon to 4pm, with the artist on hand to meet and greet his fans.
