The New Jane

Readers who visit this site directly (rather than looking at it through an RSS reader) will doubtless have noticed the text ads in the right column. These are from The New Jane, a text ad network for female bloggers. I was quite surprised to notice that CyDy Blog is #6 on The New Jane’s list of top users! The makers of The New Jane have also announced a new directory, Blogs by Women. I’ve added CyDy Blog to the gay and lesbian section, and I may add my own personal site to the directory too. They’re both the type of site that needs word of mouth to grow, so if you sign up at either The New Jane or Blogs by Women, mention on your own site that you have! Both of these sites, by the way, are run by the fabulous (and apparently very busy) Genia of SistersTalk - go check her out too!

Sexuality and Personality Survey

Thanks to Mary’s post in the bisexual community on LiveJournal, I found this survey about sexual identity and orientation. It’s 50% demographics (including the orientation/identity stuff) and then it gets into personality quiz-type questions. The Klein Sexual Orientation Grid is involved, too. The survey does take several minutes to fill out, and it’s presented by a doctoral student in Berkeley, California. Have fun…

Sorry for not posting for a couple of days - my host did wacky migration things and broke just about everything! Thanks to Volker for the heads-up about it. Anyway, I have a neat link for you today: OutFlicks provides reviews of queer films, written by members of the queer community. Anyone can write a review, and if a movie isn’t listed they will add it for you. Currently there aren’t many movies to review at all, but that’s kind of why I’m posting this link - I think the site has good potential, and I’d like to see more people use it. So check it out, sign up, pick a favorite movie, and write a review!

Kitten Coquette

Also via Unscathed Corpse I found the website for pinup/fetish model Kitten Coquette. She’s based in Vancouver, and lets her love of retro looks show up in her pictures. There are many free galleries, with Kitten wearing everything from a French Maid costume to just a pair of satin gloves. She’s a very pretty lady, and her ink work is impressive - I just love the whimsical stars she has across her arms!

I found a neat site called Motel Fetish. There are eight galleries (”rooms”) of free pictures; none of them are overtly pornographic but they are all definitely sexually attractive. There is a definite vintage and retro look to the site, and the women are all quite attractive without being skin and bones! (Seeing a girl’s ribs just does not turn me on.) Definitely check out the site, and - dare I say? - use it for your own fun in a motel one night! [via ]

Ulorin Vex

I happened upon Ulorin Vex last night, which is the LiveJournal of UK fetish model Christiane. I’d never heard of her before, but I was quite impressed by some of her pictures. She poses with her twin sister in some of them, and she also does artwork that gets posted at deviantART. Her listed interests include blood games, gothic photography, and vintage lingerie. I really enjoyed looking through her photos - let me know if you like her too!

The helpdesk tech for CyDy directed me to Spanking Blog, which is a nice kinky blog for that particular fetish! There are true stories (with pictures), links to other spanking-related sites, and even tips sent in by loyal readers. My favorite tip is the one involving Twizzlers…now there’s a new way to play with your food! Some of the stories are heterosexual, but there are also some dyke tales in there.

Pursed Lips

I just found a very interesting blog, thanks to Tristan Taormino’s new blog. Debra Hyde has been writing Pursed Lips since 1999, and in addition to being very prolific she is also a highly intelligent writer. She writes about sexuality, especially the kinky kind, and adds in a little bit of politics now and then. There is a lot worth reading in her archives, like this entry about the BDSM connection to the Abu Ghraib prison scandal, or this one about her disabled teenage son’s sexuality. I’ve added her to the CyDy blogroll and I invite you to check her out as well!
