Blue Viper Gallery

There’s some really nice lesbian-themed art at Blue Viper Gallery. The artist’s name is Ann Foster, and she paints primarily in acrylic. Many images are reminiscent of Picasso (to my untrained eye) and her work is shown in galleries organized by theme, including one for her earlier work.

Corset Goddess

I am pretty sure I have mentioned my love of corsets around here before; I don’t think I’ve mentioned that I’ve been tightlacing for a couple of weeks now. I am having some health issues so I’m not sleeping in my corsets yet, but I wear them for most of the day. I love the shape my corset gives me - and really I suppose that’s why I love corsets overall! (I distinctly remember the first time I put on a waist cincher, I got wet.) I love looking at corset pictures online, too - the galleries at Romantasy are good, and so are the pictures at LISA. But I had not come across any truly corset-focused fetish sites until recently, when I found Lady Jane!

Lady Jane is a German woman who operates Corset Goddess (the site is bilingual). She has been corseting for more than a dozen years, but the site has only been online since 2004 - and yet inside there are tons of galleries! In her biography, Jane says it is important to her to show corseting to the public and she emphasizes acceptance of the erotic female body. Her galleries are all a testament to this - a great many of them are “on location,” either somewhere outside like a park or beach, or in a party setting with a lot of onlookers. She is extremely expressive in both face and actions, and I wonder what the “normals” think of her! She also enjoys changing up her look a lot - she has a bunch of pageboy-cut wigs in different colors (black is the one she uses most often) but she also has a very cute short haircut in some of them, and some other photos have her in much longer hair.

The members area is broken up into seven sections, each of which contain several galleries. The largest sections are Corset, Dirty, and Glamour; she also has Girls (shoots with friends), Nude, Pantyhose, and Offstage sections. The thumbnail for each gallery is not always a great indicator of what’s inside…it’s usually the most surprising or intriguing shot but not always the one I liked the best from the lot! So of course I ended up looking at pretty much all the galleries just to see what fun things were hiding inside.

Jane also has three videos on the site. My favorite was a nine-minute Windows Media movie (a bit blurry but I think it’s because the natural light was so strong) that featured Jane and her friend Joanne Lafontaine lacing each other up. Most of the time I only get to see myself in the mirror or a sequence of still photos, and that doesn’t really have the same impact as actually watching the two sides draw closer together. Wow! Finally, there is a Guest Stars section with quite a few galleries from various other models, including Kumimonster who is a friend of Cyber-Dyke.

I’ve been playing around with the blog config a bit. I turned off comments for those who are not registered with TypeKey, because this blog gets so few comments as it is (*grumble*) that the spam is really overwhelming. So if you are actually a human being and you would like to comment, please do sign up with TypeKey if you haven’t already. Also, I’m attempting to install reBlog, which will make it a lot easier to share updates from around the network. Unfortunately it’s being a real bitch, but I’m working on it!

Meanwhile, you should go check out EroticShiver. It’s kind of like Books on Tape on Steroids - erotic audio books in digital format! They are on the expensive side, at $20 a pop, but they promise they’re not exploiting women. (Um, okay.) They’re listed on Podcast.net if you want to check out some free samples.

Isle of Lesbos

It’s a relief that the owners of “sappho.com” did something good with it! The site is called Isle of Lesbos and it features art and literature about lesbianism. There is both classic artwork and also vintage images, as well as poetry, letters, and journals. One of my favorite pieces is an 1890s-era photograph called View From Behind, which looks like the women really were lovers rather than just two women posing together. (Am I the only one who wonders about that kind of thing when viewing antique lesbian photos?)

Bernadinism

Okay, this photographer’s work is seriously cool. Bernadinism is heavy on the surreality and the fetish. My favorite gallery is the one of various spankings taken at the moment of impact using a sound-activated switch. The photo is taken just as the implement strikes the buttock, resulting in an image of what the flesh forms into while it’s being hit! Way way cool.

Unique Artistic Pinups

Here’s a fun link: bawidamann.com features a few dozen large pinup images drawn by Andrew Bawidamann, who says his pictures “offer much appeal to today’s soldiers,
tattoo artists, bikers, rockers and just about anyone with a fetish!” (Pinups were especially popular with troops overseas in the mid-twentieth century.) Many of the images can be purchased, or you can just admire them online. The scrapbook section features photographs of places the pinups have ended up - tattoos, motorcycles…check it out and have fun!
