Audio-Controlled Vibrators

April 13, 2007 | Filed Under Cool Links, Sex

I came upon an excellent sex toy blog called Slashdong and I wanted to share it with you. Specifically, I want to direct you to Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Modern Audio Toys, which is the most in-depth review - and analysis - I have ever seen of audio-based toys, or possibly even any sex toy! (I was going to say it’s not safe for work, but then I remembered - neither is this blog. So if you’re reading this, you either don’t care about NSFW, or you aren’t even at work. To read more about NSFW, check out Susie Bright’s posting: Not Safe For Prudes.)

Tasteful Nudes

April 4, 2007 | Filed Under Cool Links, Sex

Who’d have thought that Metafilter would lead me to a site full of gorgeous women? It started with a link to Susie Bright’s blog, where I saw a picture in the sidebar with the tagline “tasteful nudes” on it. This led me to DOMAI, whose tagline is: We respect woman and her beauty. And they do! I was absolutely blown away by the simple, natural beauty on this site. There’s no popups and no cookies and no banners, it’s all very plain and beautiful.

They have a “beauty of the day” feature that gives a free large picture daily, but my favorite picture is Sabrina. There’s such a timeless beauty in that picture - and yet it’s a recent picture, you can see she’s got her upper ear pierced. This whole site is just gorgeous, you really should check it out.

SexAbility

November 27, 2006 | Filed Under Cool Links

Two posts in one day! Watch out!

I’m posting to call attention to a comment I got from Playful Fairy a little while back. I didn’t realize that my cyber-dyke.net e-mail address was broken, so I wasn’t getting comment notifications (it was my own fault!) until yesterday when I fixed it. Playful Fairy posted this comment on my “What Makes a Lesbian?” post, which I had originally written for Dykewrite a few years ago. She gives a different perspective to my post, and I think it’s definitely worth a read.

Also worth checking out is Playful Fairy’s blog, SexAbility. She writes about sex and disability from a queer and kinky perspective, which is a great rarity on the web! It’s a brand new blog and she is already doing a fabulous job, and I predict really great things ahead. Again, this is territory pretty much nobody has covered, so if you want to know about sex with disabilities, this is the place to go for it. (Offline options include the books The Ultimate Guide to Sex and Disability and Enabling Romance.)

Buck Angel

You may have noticed a new button in the “Partners” section a couple of days ago. That’s the button for Buck Angel’s website, Transexual-Man.com. Buck is the best-known FTM pornstar currently on the web - he’s even been on Howard Stern. Yes, CyDy Blog and Cyber Dyke are sites for lesbians - but I think there might be some women out there who, like me, enjoy trans porn. Buck bills himself as “a real man with a real pussy,” and as his Wikipedia entry says, he’s not ashamed of his female genitalia. It’s refreshing to see that kind of honesty in the trans community - I have trans friends who have destroyed all former ID cards, etc. because they didn’t want to remember who they were before their transition. But Buck freely acknowledges that he used to be a woman, and he’s willing to share his uniqueness with the world. Like many porn sites, the ultimate purpose is money, but he also has the Buck Angel Blog if you want to learn more about him.

Definitely check out Buck Angel if you have the chance - it’s an educational and entertaining experience. And I have to say it - woof!

Sarcastic Sex Toy Blog

October 18, 2006 | Filed Under Cool Links

Here’s a funny link: Sarcastic Sex Toy Blog! It’s written by Jennifer Dziura, who is a comedian and totally hot - totally. She also runs a couple of other blogs - Eujenics is about her adventures in egg donation, she blogs about the Williamsburg Spelling Bee, which is an adults-only event in Brooklyn, and her personal site is Jen is Famous.

But the sex toy reviews are where the real hilarity is found. Every review has a picture, quotes from the packaging, and sarcastic skewering not only of the product itself, but frequently of the people who use these things. I can’t really tell you how funny the site is without violating copyright, but here’s an example:

Honey, don’t mind me, I’m just attaching your Deluxe Head Harness with Gag to this moving bus.

Unfortunately the site is only updated every couple of months - which is really quite sad, because there is plenty of potential in the sex toy market. I could walk into my nearest sex shop (that would be Night Dreams, for all your trashy hooker needs) and come out with a lot of fodder for her blog. Jen, if you see this - please write more! The world needs you!

Whorecraft

October 3, 2006 | Filed Under Cool Links, Sex

I love this site! I just came across Whorecraft, which is pornography targeted to geeks. Or, in their own words: “Whorecraft is specifically targeted to anyone who’s ever imagined their fantasy world characters coming to life in a sexual way.” The first episode is 11 minutes long, so for now they’re targeting a good middle-length video. (If you like longer videos, there are lots at Cyber Dyke, the parent of Cyber Dyke Blog.) The Whorecraft downloads are eternal - that is, they won’t expire - and episode one is $7.95.

For the record, Whorecraft appears to be semi-hardcore heterosexual action. I’m featuring it on CyDyBlog because I am a geek myself, and because they have some very attractive women on the front page. Well worth a look!

Dear Amy

October 2, 2006 | Filed Under Cool Links

Here’s a cool alternative to Savage Love: Dear Amy is sex advice for the modern player. She’s been fielding questions for about a year now, everything from female ejaculation to gender identity. Most posts are categorized, but it’s worth wandering through all the categories to see what you might find rather than focusing only on your areas of interest.

Lesbian Movies

August 7, 2006 | Filed Under Cool Links

I’m not sure why Malinda Lo’s 2004 article How to Make a Good Lesbian Movie only just now showed up in my Google News e-mail, but if you haven’t already seen the article, go check it out!

LezCruise

August 3, 2006 | Filed Under Cool Links

Thanks to the Bay Windows newspaper I learned about a new travel option for women: LezCruise. They are a travel agency that coordinates groups of women on straight cruises. Although RSVP and Atlantis, both full-charter lines, allow women to be part of the group, the number of women on board is frequently well under 10% of passengers. The only option for an all-female cruise so far has been Olivia, which is rather expensive and so not everyone can go. LezCruise is much closer to the Pied Piper model in that they do not charter an entire ship - which drives fare up quite a bit - but rather bring groups onto straight cruises. Unfortunately the ones they’ve got so far are mostly on expensive cruise lines (Crystal, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas) and only one on a moderately-priced line (Holland America). But they have a message board on the site, along with a blog, and hopefully they will turn into a great company with lots of women on board!

Mapping Our Rights

June 1, 2006 | Filed Under Cool Links

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Ipas, and Sister Song have collaborated on a site called Mapping Our Rights. It describes individual states in the U.S. and how they measure up on reproductive and sexual rights. There are personal stories from each state - a nice touch.
