Gay Penguins Win Out

I was half amused and half dismayed when I heard a zoo in Germany was going to import female penguins and break up the gay male penguin couples they had. Fortunately, there was so much backlash from gay rights groups that they've canceled the plans. I'm curious, though - why does everybody insist that penguins have a sexuality? It's not like they have political motives. It seems to me that the penguin brain is too tiny to understand complex issues like homosexuality. Granted, they're going against reproductive norms, but I hardly think the penguins are deliberately gay! Still, penguins are cute and I'm glad the German penguins will not be isolated from their mates..

The male penguins probably just wanted to get off ;-) There not gay, just not interested in starting a family right now.
