Would She Make Me One?

From an apocryphal bathroom stall:

my mother made me a lesbian
if I gave her the wool would she make me one?

It's silly, yes, but is it true? The debate has raged for many years as to whether homosexuality is a choice, a learned behavior, or genetically pre-determined. Personally, I think it can be any of the above for any individual. Julie Bindel, however, writing in The Guardian, thinks we choose to be gay. As Tim Worstall mentions, the validity of this argument is suspect because it's based on the premise that sexuality is a societal construct.
