Network Update: Posteriority

November 30, 2005 | Filed Under CyDy Network

There are a couple of recent updates at Posteriority that are worth checking out. There’s a small set of five videos featuring Sybil and Zille. They’re only 15 sec apiece because they were shot a while ago on a little camera! (Speaking of which, I’m hoping to get a little video-capable camera myself for the holidays…) The other update is a huge gallery featuring Sexy Miss Lizz. Here’s what she has to say:

Well basically I’m just an average house-wife like the lady next door. Yeah right, my neighbors would be laughing out of their seats right now! Seriously though, I am a happily married woman and mother of 5! Yep you heard me right, I got 5 kids! And yeeeesssss I gave birth to them all! I’m just a regular stay-home mom that cleans house, plants flowers, and bakes chocolate chip cookies just like your mom did. Only difference is, I wear a G-String instead of an apron. I built this site about 5 years ago when the only thing I could do on a computer was open e-mail. I downloaded this free web-publishing thing-a-MI-jig, figured out how to insert pictures, type in words, and Wha-Lah here ya have it, my very own home made site! (Not bad for a high school drop out huh?) I feel that just because I am a mom and 42 years old is no reason I still cant feel, look, and be sexy!

Okay, so she’s not a dyke, and she admits her chest is fake, but she looks awesome and it’s a big gallery!

Network Update: Big Beautiful Heaven

November 29, 2005 | Filed Under CyDy Network

This is the first time I’ve done an update for Big Beautiful Heaven! I don’t remember ever having seen them post new pictures before, for a long time they were in an archive status but now there’s an update! It’s actually a video, solo masturbation by Quinn using a vibrator. She’s a beautiful lady, but I’m not sure I’d consider her a BBW - she has a few extra pounds, but so do I! The files are kind of big - 11 megs for the lo-res MPG, 27 megs for the hi-res MPG, and there’s a WMV too. The video length is 3 min and 30 sec.

GaydarGirls is Anti-Trans

November 20, 2005 | Filed Under Sex

As if Michigan’s rules against transwomen weren’t bad enough, now GaydarGirls.com has made a fool of itself by banning a paid member because she hasn’t completed her SRS. Here’s what I sent them:

Hello,

I wanted to express my dismay at the recent administrative choice made by GaydarGirls.com to remove a longstanding member of the community based on the fact that she is transgendered. To be honest, I am appalled at your willingness to practice discrimination against a member of a group marginalized by society - so much for minorities supporting each other. I’ll explain that a little better with the following example:

I was recently hired by RSVP Vacations as an interpreter for one of their cruises. On day two of the trip, the RSVP employee who had hired me (along with another lesbian and a gay man) pulled the three of us aside and said he was terribly sorry but he had to ask the two female interpreters if we really were lesbians. It seems there was some complaint among the passengers because we looked like we might be straight. The other interpreter was able to establish herself as a dyke, but apparently rumors continued about me for the entire week. Finally, on the next-to-last night, I was confronted directly by a passenger who demanded to know if I was lesbian. When I said yes, he demanded to know if I had a girlfriend. When I said yes and that we’d been together for seven years, he demanded to know if I had a picture of her! I was so incensed by this treatment that I went to the ship’s Internet cafe and printed out a picture of my partner and myself with a well-known gay celebrity. That was apparently good enough for this individual, but I later heard that the male interpreter had been asked repeatedly if I was straight…because I am femme and have long hair.

The idea that a group of gay men (RSVP cruises are about 90% male) can discriminate against a lesbian is shocking, I’m sure you’ll agree. And so it is equally astonishing that a group of lesbians can discriminate against a transgender woman. Whether or not she is lesbian (that is, sleeps with women) is irrelevant - you were attacking her based on her sexual characteristics and NOT her sexual orientation. Telling a transwoman that she should join a site intended for gay men is ridiculous, and I condemn you for such practices.

Sincerely,
(me)

Horrifying, isn’t it? I encourage readers to get in touch with them about this; if you are a member of the site then please consider withdrawing your participation.

Catching Up on the News

November 18, 2005 | Filed Under News Reports

With the whole family situation I haven’t been reading queer news lately. Here are a couple of things I missed; this weekend I will catch up on CyDy itself! Also, watch for potential changes around here in the coming months, especially integration with some other parts of CyDy.

  • Those Panthers cheerleaders (you’ve heard about them, right?) got fired for code of conduct violations. Hopefully that has more to do with sex in a public place than it does the fact that it was lesbian sex.
  • Georgetown University, which is local to me, is giving partner benefits to gay employees. This is notable mostly because it’s a Roman Catholic institution!
  • I’m starting to get a little fidgety - PlanetOut just bought The Advocate and Out Magazine. I guess it’s time for queer corporate behemoths to come of age?
  • Former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey is more out of the closet now. Cool!

More Ellen Dirt

November 17, 2005 | Filed Under Pop Culture

I hate to ask this, but I’m dying for more Ellen dirt. Does anybody have a subscription to People magazine or People.com? AfterEllen mentioned an interview that includes details on the big drama that put Ellen and Portia di Rossi together. I’m happy for them that they’ve found the person they want to be with for the rest of their respective lives…but I just can’t forget about what they did to their former partners! It wasn’t the fact that they split up…but it was how they did it. So, yeah. I want the dirt! Anybody get People?

Top Lesbian Kisses

November 15, 2005 | Filed Under Pop Culture

From AfterEllen is the list of Top Ten Lesbian Movie Kisses. Typical fare for AfterEllen of course. There are a few surprises lower in the list but the number one pick was so easily guessable that it was rather an anti-climax.

Fake Gay News

November 11, 2005 | Filed Under Cool Links

I’m not sure just yet what to make of Fake Gay News. Is it trying to be the Onion? Is it just trying to be funny? What is it? Anyway, give it a peek. I’ll be keeping my eye on it too.

More On Gay for Women

November 8, 2005 | Filed Under Uncategorized

If you’re a linguistic nut like I am, there’s another article in response to Safire’s piece (about the term “gay” no longer applying to women) that you might find interesting.

Raise your hand if you think the Carolina Panthers cheerleaders staged the whole thing as a publicity stunt.

Also, Alaska approves benefits for same sex partners - yay, Alaska!

This blog will probably be even more quiet than usual as I am dealing with an unexpected death in my family. I will probably continue updating my personal site but entries there will probably be cut back too.

Homolexicology

William Safire’s column this week in the New York Times is called Homolexicology. He looks at whether lesbians should fall under the designation “gay” or not.
