Gay Travel

August 19, 2005 | Filed Under Pop Culture

Has anybody ever picked up a Damron book? Are they any good? I always want them but I could never justify the expense. The L.A. Times has an article about mainstream travel sites courting gay users, which is a phenomenon I have definitely noticed at Orbitz. Travelocity has a direct partnership with PlanetOut, too, so they obviously have a section too.

Lesbians in Nepal

August 16, 2005 | Filed Under News Reports

If anybody thinks life is tough for lesbians in the United States or western Europe, they should try checking out the lesbians of Nepal. Many regions and religions vilify sex between men but leave lesbianism untouched or uncondemned. In Nepal, though, society considers women to be unnatural and sick, forcing many to marry men and keep their true feelings secret. The Blue Diamond Society, a gay rights organization in that country, has started a lesbian support group. Hopefully increased recognition of same-sex relationships will slowly lead to increased tolerance.

International News

A couple of articles from around the world:

  • Japanese Legislator Comes Out At Gay Pride - Kanako Otsuji’s announcement that she is a lesbian came after she heard the stories of hardships faced by closeted Japanese.
  • Lesbian couple in bid for recognition - The British couple obtained a marriage license in Canada and they are seeking acceptance of it in the UK.
  • Rally for gay marriage action - Activists across Australia protested the 2004 amendment to the country’s Marriage Act, which outlawed same-sex marriages and established that no foreign same-sex marriages could be recognized.

Network Update: Posteriority

August 13, 2005 | Filed Under CyDy Network

One of my favorite CyDy models is in the latest Posteriority update! Roxxie is so pretty - I love when CyDy features her. In this oversized gallery she is paired with Sapphire, who has the perfect ass for this site. There’s some nice anal action here, with a knobbly little black vibrator. I wonder if Sapphire’s back tattoo is new - was it not there before, or have I just never seen pictures of her back?

Okay, so, the news may not be so good for gay members of the Cherokee Nation after all.

Bernadinism

August 11, 2005 | Filed Under Cool Links

Okay, this photographer’s work is seriously cool. Bernadinism is heavy on the surreality and the fetish. My favorite gallery is the one of various spankings taken at the moment of impact using a sound-activated switch. The photo is taken just as the implement strikes the buttock, resulting in an image of what the flesh forms into while it’s being hit! Way way cool.

Unique Artistic Pinups

August 10, 2005 | Filed Under Cool Links

Here’s a fun link: bawidamann.com features a few dozen large pinup images drawn by Andrew Bawidamann, who says his pictures “offer much appeal to today’s soldiers,
tattoo artists, bikers, rockers and just about anyone with a fetish!” (Pinups were especially popular with troops overseas in the mid-twentieth century.) Many of the images can be purchased, or you can just admire them online. The scrapbook section features photographs of places the pinups have ended up - tattoos, motorcycles…check it out and have fun!

That Bird’s Nest

August 9, 2005 | Filed Under Cool Links

I could have sworn I had linked to this before, but apparently not! My friend bias_cut has done some modeling for That Bird’s Nest, a woman-positive alternative porn site that has just gone free. It was formerly a membership-based site, but all of the solo girls are now free, and so are the pairs! I’m not sure what makes a site fall under the “alternative” label - I suppose I could ask over at altporn.net - but That Bird’s Nest is definitely in that category. Is it tattooed chicks? Funky haircolors? Fat models? TBN has all of these! I’m now intensely curious to find out how to become a model for this site…I’ve done nude modeling before (see here), and I would absolutely love the opportunity to do it again - especially for a super site like That Bird’s Nest.

And SAmi - I knew where Guelph was the moment I read that line in your bio! D
