Network Update: Serafina Sox

The not-quite-latest update from Serafina Sox features Makaio, the very pretty pixie who has been gracing Cyber Dyke galleries quite a lot lately. Her exotic face - I believe she’s Hawaiian - is set off by attractively highlighted hair, and her socks are adorable yellow knee-highs (well, almost) with pastel butterflies on them. The room she’s in is yellow, too, which makes for a very summery set! Of course she shows the soles of her feet too, and even gives us a peek at her pussy as she does so. I can’t help but wonder if there’s going to be more to this, though, because the gallery ends with her taking off those cute socks and showing off her naked feet…

qPodder

This link is a little out of the norm for CyDy Blog, but it seems pretty cool. The website is called qPodder and it’s focused on queer podcasting (if you hadn’t guessed!). They have a listing of queer podcasters, discussion forums, and a chat room. You can subscribe to individual podcasts, of course, but there’s also a service called NellyGator that subscribes you to everything at once! I’m still pretty new to podcasts myself - the only queer one I’ve listened to so far is GenderTalk - but this seems like a good resource for finding interesting new shows to listen to!

Network Update: darkPlay

See, one good thing (the only good thing) about the blog breaking is that I get to update you on four galleries at once! These pictures are all from darkPlay and they feature none other than - are you sitting down? - Fetish Diva Midori! I am so completely and utterly jealous you wouldn’t believe it. I have some friends here in the DC area who have also spent time with Midori, and I love listening to their stories about her. The closest I’ve come to her is that she was on the cover of the same issue of On Our Backs that I was in, almost five years ago.

Anyway, fawning aside, this update has an entire journal entry to go with it. In the picture galleries, Midori’s ropework is highlighted by an awesome suspension scene outdoors. When it’s over Zille ends up on the ground, and the journal brings us inside her head as she was lying there. Following this, sexy back deck posing ensues, and then a warm bath. If you noticed that I didn’t say the ropes came off, that’s because I didn’t - even in the bath she is still bound. All photography was done by Michael Blue.

The final gallery (okay, there are actually five) is outtakes! I love when Cyber Dyke provides us with these. Actually, I think my absolute favorite picture is in this section. It’s the one with the water bottle cap. Enjoy!

Bias in Lesbian Fertility Case

A woman in San Diego received 11 months of fertility treatment but was denied insemination because she is a lesbian. The two doctors involved cited personal religious beliefs as the reason, and the California Medical Association has appealed a lawsuit on behalf of the doctors (who had originally lost the case). Here is a quote from the article:

The law seems quite clear that a sincere religious belief does not exempt you from otherwise applicable civil rights laws. Medical ethics are clear that it is improper to refuse care based on medically irrelevant personal characteristics of the patient.

And yet pharmacists are allowed to refuse to dispense the morning after pill based on their religious beliefs. What’s with that?

Picking Out Porn

Alicia Guinn has written a cool piece for Toys in Babeland called How to Choose an Adult Video. She tells how to identify exactly what style you want (gonzo? plot-driven?) and what you’re looking for in that style (people of color? directed by a woman?). The article is useful for anyone, queer or straight. She mentions two of my favorites, Slide Bi Me and Sugar High Glitter City.

If you had noticed that CyDy Blog was quiet even longer than usual, it’s because I screwed something up while upgrading Movable Type. I couldn’t even log in! But thanks to some help from the ProNet group, I’m back in. Whew! Can’t believe I didn’t think of the solution myself, though. Anyway, I’m at work right now - will post more later.

Girlfriends Survey

The current feature on the website for Girlfriends magazine is a sex survey! I just love surveys. Unfortunately it’s not set up to be filled in online, you have to print it and either snail-mail or fax it to them. I noticed this paragraph at the top:

While we realize it may be tempting to fill out the survey as a group or couple, we’d like answers undiluted by the lesbian-merge factor, so please complete it by yourself. Also, please decide for yourself how you define “sex,” as long as it’s consensual.

I would say they’re definitely aware of modern lesbian life! The survey itself is really good. It acknowledges that many lesbians have in fact had sex with men, and that women might fake orgasms even with other women. The “pick your favorite sex act” list includes rimjob, and the “what is your usual method of masturbation” question acknowledges that not all women get off with a vibrator or their hands! (Those are my preferences, but I have tried other ways too…)

Anyway, have fun with the survey. And feel free to let me know what other questions you think should have been on there - I could post a follow-up here!

The midsummer update from Serafina Sox is pretty chilly: Punk-haired Sapphire gets down and sticky with some ice cream! Her expression when she first touches the cold stuff is fantastic, you can see the shock traveled all the way from the soles of her feet up to the top of her head. The gallery is pretty short - that stuff melts fast! - but Sapphire is so cute that every shot is enjoyable. I love her cat tattoo! Look for the pictures where she draws you right in, too.
