Network Update: Sappho’s Girls

Sorry I haven’t been updating much lately…I had some really serious issues at work that ate up all my energy and concentration. Anyway, now that things seem to have settled down a bit, I have the time to relax and look at fabulous vintage erotic photography! Admittedly they’re not actually vintage photos (or if they are Clio and Zille are looking great for their age!), but whoever did the touching up did a great job. The pictures are slightly too blurry for my taste, but the set still looks nice. I browsed through this update with my partner, and she was disappointed that it ended so soon - I guess we’ll both have to stay tuned until next week!

Wanda Alston

I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned this yet - the murder of Wanda Alston, the director of the Mayor’s GLBT office for Washington DC. The local news outlets were in a frenzy after her body was found by her partner in their home; less than 24 hours later an out-of-work neighbor was arrested. Initially it had been thought that this was a hate crime, but in the end it turned out to have been a somewhat random killing. She was probably fairly well-off, and though she probably didn’t flaunt it I can see that an unemployed person would choose her for robbery. There has also been speculation that she had let him into her home to move some furniture. Whatever the motive, detectives have decided that it was in no way a hate crime because of her role as a prominent lesbian on the Mayor’s payroll.

Sorry for not updating sooner…I’ve been letting my wife use the computer for a while! Anyway, the update at darkPlay is really beautiful this week. Whee! The entire Cyber-Dyke network got a review over at Sex Kitten! The reviewer, Gaelle, took a tour of the entire network. Network Update: Sappho’s Girls

Wow, Sappho’s Girls is churning out updates faster than I can keep up with them - poor me! There are two galleries this time with Zille and Clio dressed in 1930s style outfits and hanging out in a garden that looks like it would make a great setting for a wedding. The images even remind me of some of the pictures in Odd Girls and Twilight Lovers, a book about lesbian relationships in American history. They get quite a bit more explicit than those pictures, of course, but it’s a very nice historical romp.

The makers of The New Jane have also announced a new directory, Blogs by Women. I’ve added CyDy Blog to the gay and lesbian section, and I may add my own personal site to the directory too. Network Update: Serafina Sox

Wow, I missed a couple of Serafina Sox updates in February, too! What can I say? It was a busy month for me. There are two galleries featuring Angelene and Roxxie in the Cyber Dyke bordello (hey, it’s got red walls, it counts as a bordello!). Roxxie has been in there before with Zille, but from what I can tell Angelene is a newcomer to Serafina Sox. There are two galleries of interracial lesbian foot fun to browse through; in the first Roxxie gives lots of attention to Angelene’s heels, stockings, and feet and then Angelene returns the favor in gallery two! I especially like the shots of Roxxie’s feet on Angelene’s face…there’s something sweet and gentle there that just appeals to me.

Yikes - February flew by so quickly that I missed two updates at Sappho’s Girls! I was going to feel bad about it, but then I saw what I’d missed and I was immediately distracted. When I saw the first picture I momentarily thought I was looking at Leisha Hailey and Erin Daniels from The L Word! It turns out to be Anais and Sabina making love across 125 fabulous pictures - the two of them are so beautiful together. The poses, the feelings…I know it’s going to sound hokey, but I just love how sweet they look (check out picture #4 in the first gallery). If you like real sapphic love, two girls together, soft corners and smooth edges, this gallery is for you. This is definitely among my favorite Cyber Dyke galleries…so beautiful.

Thanks to Mary’s post in the bisexual community on LiveJournal, I found this survey about sexual identity and orientation. It’s 50% demographics (including the orientation/identity stuff) and then it gets into personality quiz-type questions. The Klein Sexual Orientation Grid is involved, too. The survey does take several minutes to fill out, and it’s presented by a doctoral student in Berkeley, California. Have fun…
