The Art and Politics of Netporn

Via Julie comes an announcement of a call for papers (and art projects) for an October conference called The Art and Politics of Netporn. It’s being held in Amsterdam and they are looking for 250-word abstracts about a variety of topics including censorship, politics, feminism, and punk porn. One category I found a bit odd was queer/gender/gay, because to me those are different subjects and I could see them each having separate sections of their own! But that’s how they’ve done it up. If you’ve got anything to contribute, do so by March 15th - details are at the link above.

Wife Swap

The fabulous AfterEllen has come up with a review of the latest episode of Wife Swap. A lesbian mom switched places with a conservative straight mom. Network Update: Serafina Sox

The latest update at Serafina Sox appears to be the end of the Bridgett-and-Zille series. Part 1 featured Bridgett alone, Part 2 featured Zille alone, and now the two have come together in a corseted, stockinged, high-heeled meeting! Bridgett - of RopeLover.com - does a lot of foot worship in this update, and there are some great shots like Zille’s foot on Bridgett’s face (#44) and ass (#46), and Zille even gets fucked with a high heel! (You’ll have to find out which hole for yourself, and if you’re not already a CyDy member you’ll want to sign up first for these hot shots!)

Marcia Cross, one of the stars of Desperate Housewives, says she’s not a lesbian. I’ve never seen that show, and I never saw her on Melrose Place either, so I’m not familiar with her at all. Rumors have been flying recently that Cross is gay, and Genia said she’s not surprised by the news. Cross, who is 42 (I hope I look that good when I’m 42), thinks people were just trying to find a reason why she’s still single. She seems not to care about sexual orientation, though - she thinks it’s strange that we live in a world where it’s so important.

Lesbianism in Jamaica

The Jamaica Observer features a weekly column by Mark Wignall and his girlfriend Sharna Lynch (whom the paper points out is 30 years younger than Wignall). Their most recent column is entitled Emergency! My girlfriend/wife is a lesbian. The authors discuss how lesbians destroy the family, make passes at uninterested women, ruin marriages, and so forth. I’d be outraged, but I can’t because I’m just not surprised. Jamaica is well-known to be homophobic; when I first started planning for a Caribbean vacation a couple of years ago (we ended up going to Grenada) I checked out Jamaica and discovered it is one of the most homophobic islands in the area. (For the curious, Grand Cayman is almost as bad.) Jamaica is also the home of rapper Beenie Man, who uses violent lyrics to encourage listeners to kill gays. All in all, Jamaica isn’t a good place for gays and lesbians to visit and be open about their sexuality…and regrettably, the situation is just as intolerant for queer residents.

Network Update: darkPlay

There’s a cool new update at darkPlay, featuring Zille (known to most of us!) and Pandora (ooh, new!). They’re both dressed for a 1930’s-style Cabaret performance but all the action is between the two of them. This is very much a story-telling gallery. There are two aesthetics that I just love - Zille’s fur-topped stockings and Pandora’s pantyline tattoo! There’s undoubtedly going to be an additional gallery next week, because the opening bit promises us spanking but it’s only just getting started in the last few pictures.

This week’s update from Serafina Sox is another black and white update, with Zille looking very elegant in black and white pictures. She is wearing a corset (I did mention my newfound fascination with corsets, didn’t I?), a feather boa, and not much else! She gives some very serious attention to a pair of sheer stockings, taking great care when putting them on and showing us exactly how to clip the garters on. So now we’ve had Bridgett, and we’ve had Zille…can it be that Bridgett and Zille will show up together next week? (Don’t forget that there are free previews from this and other updates inside the Cyber-Dyke site!)

Network Update: darkPlay

Not only do you get a description this time, but you get a thumbnail! That’s how impressed I am with the most recent update at darkPlay.

Notice how careful I am to show you only the money shot, zoomed in so close it’s not even titillating! But you can tell that I am quite serious when I say Zille gets a narwhal horn up the ass in this update. (The narwhal, by the way, is an Arctic whale with a long hollow tusk.) A continuation from last week, this update begins with Alexi shaving Zille’s pussy…and then there’s that horn. Take special note of picture #30 - look how her eyes are rolled back in sheer delight! I’m not sure this set is done, though…could there possibly be more next week? (I’m only hoping, I don’t actually know!)

Call For Submissions

Blog readers are typically writers as well, so here’s a writing opportunity for those of you under the age of 23. Queerthology is seeking essays from young people ages 13-23 about what it’s like to grow up queer or be a queer young adult today. The essays will be collected into a book, and royalties will be donated to GLSEN to help their efforts to ensure safe schools for all queer students. Hurry up though - the deadline for submissions is February 15th!
