Here’s some positive news from India: police have dismissed a case in Amritsar against two women who were married earlier this month. They are 18-year-old Mala and 25-year-old Raju; Mala’s father complained to police about the two women living together. A city magistrate determined that there was no law saying two women couldn’t live together, and the charges were dropped. Their marriage was performed according to Hindu rites after they eloped in November.
If lesbian relationships and India are both topics of interest to you, I recommend watching Chutney Popcorn and Bend It Like Beckham - both are great movies!
