Entertainment on Olivia

I just returned from a cruise on the Celebrity Galaxy, but I’ve known of Olivia Cruises for a long time. The lesbian-owned company charters an entire ship for women-only cruises, and they often provide specialized entertainment on board. Zille mentioned Wynonna Judd’s upcoming appearance on the January 29th four-night Caribbean sailing, but there are plenty of other stars on future Olivia trips. In April, Melissa Etheridge (who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer) will be performing on an eastern Caribbean trip; in late October 2005 the Indigo Girls will be cruising the Mexican Riviera for Olivia. And right this moment, the cast of The L Word is on an Olivia cruise, filming an episode for the upcoming season. What lucky guests the women on that sailing are!

Olivia definitely charges tip-top rates for their cruises (with a smaller target market, they have to), but they also provide great entertainment.

Just last night I caught a rerun of CSI that featured vampires, and today I see that this week’s darkPlay update is the same! The gothy femme-on-femme action features Zille and Raven in a sequence called “Nocturnal Desecration” that takes place in front of a stained glass window. I’m not sure exactly which church is getting defiled by the identically-dressed dark ladies, but I’m jealous of the altar! If you’re looking for hardcore raunchy action, you’ll have to return to the archives for this week, but if you want to see two hot chicks enjoy some sexy sensual touching, definitely check out this Halloween special.

Kiss the Girls

For those of you not already familiar with AfterEllen.com, it is a wonderful site that provides reviews and commentary on the depiction of lesbians and bisexual women in media (especially television and film). Their recent analysis of lesbian kisses on TV points out that most of the girl-girl kisses seen on the air this season have been between straight characters, who kiss for a variety of reasons, or between one-shot guest characters. Lesbian relationships on the boob tube (!) have been going downhill, especially since the end of Buffy (which positively portrayed Willow in two lesbian relationships); in fact the best lesbian relationships on TV today are on The L Word, which is only seen on the premium channel Showtime.

Hello again everyone! Yes, I’m back after a delightfully refreshing vacation, which you can read about here (and don’t forget the pictures!). It was the perfect kind of vacation: restful, and leaving me eager to get back to work! (Yes, it’s true…I miss my primary co-worker, and I miss my clients!)

But meanwhile, I have got so much wonderful dyke porn to look at in my last few days of vacation! Zille mentioned a couple of updates for me, but she left out two of my favorites, which come from Sappho’s Girls. The Zille/Marie shower series continues with parts two, which is just as visually stunning as the first part. My favorite photos are where Zille’s got Marie pressed up against the shower wall: I love their wet hair, I love the curves of Marie’s breast and the small of Zille’s back, I love the locations of Zille’s hands, the position of Marie’s legs, and Zille’s great ass!

Well, it’s odd to write about my own update here - I’m so used to Meredith saying such sweet things an it seems all very egotistical to try and match that, so this update will be “just the facts, ma’am!”

This last of three galleries features me beating the snot out of that rude little gamer geek. Blade. (I mean - she ignored me to play video games - how ill-mannered is that?!)

Anyway, first I use the “Gravitation” book (A weighty tome, hahaha!) and then I yank off her own belt and lay in to her geeky bottom!

It was all very fun - for me at least!
But since she takes it all so very well, I do relent and let her lick my shoes. Am I generous or what?

Anyway, if you read the story she wrote to accompany the pictures, I think you’ll find she has no complaint!

There’s no “unless you’re gay.” I don’t see the purpose in denying people access to a right that most of us take for granted. I don’t see it as very American to carve out exceptions to our Constitution for a certain class of people.

Judd’s Lesbian Gigs Enrage Christian Fans

Country superstar WYNONNA JUDD has infuriated her Christian fans by planning a performance on a lesbian cruise.

The singer has been inundated with angry emails from The Traditional Values Coalition threatening to boycott her future concerts unless she cancels her engagement to sing on a Caribbean cruise ship next year (05).

The cruise is sponsored by OLIVIA, which is “a company dedicated to providing high quality, safe vacations for lesbian travelers”, according to its website.

The Traditional Values Coalition says, “It conflicts with her professed Christian faith and suggests Judd has been misled by the mainstream media on the origins of same-sex attractions and the self-destructive results of such attractions.

“We urge her to study what the Bible says in both the Old and New Testaments about homosexuality …to learn how faith in Christ has set men and women free from bondage to this life-controlling condition.”

First off, when I initially read it, I mis-read it as “Jugg’s Lesbian Gigs Enrage Christian Fans” which gives it a whole ‘nother spin…. [grins]

It’s of course very cool that Miss Judd is doing Olivia cruises, although I wouldn’t go to her show, not liking country music all that much. And, of course, it doesn’t at all contradict “her professed Christian faith,” – it just means she has an open heart and open mind like a good Christian ought to have!

I could rant here about how the Bible is totally mistranslated from the original Greek (F’r'instance, the part saying “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live,” is actually, “Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live,” a rather different sentiment which I think we all could get behind!)

I could also make jokes about “bondage” (Hey – they brought it up first!!!)

But I will contain myself to pointing out that actually, the 2 times I read the (King James) Bible, I never did find explicit instructions from either the Big Guy or his son on how to get over being gay. It may condemn (and not in the blanket ways people use it to condemn all gay life) but it offers no cure. (Nor any explanation why this may be a “bad thing,” either!)

Oh, and of course, I have to point out that the headline: “Judd’s Lesbian Gigs Enrage Christian Fans” (which I got from the site) is misleading. Not all of her Christian fans are “enraged,” I am sure. Some don’t care, some are annoyed, some haven’t even found out yet. The only Christian fans on record who are “enraged” are the … errrm … people over at the “The Traditional Values Coalition” - it could, indeed, be just one person!

Hey all!

I’ll be doing the updates while the lovely and talented Meredith is off tanning her freshly waxed and primped body on a deck of a cruise ship … oh how I wish I was there, too! But I wish her and her partner a lovely trip, regardless of me not going along…. [evil grin]

On a personal note, I was one of the photographers for that shoot, and I really enjoyed shooting it!
